Star Wars fever is sweeping the nation and the epidemic has struck right here in north Texas!
Our local indoor soccer team, the Dallas Sidekicks, is holding a unique Star Wars-themed event at a matchup against the St. Louis Ambush and you won’t want to miss it. While the team has many upcoming games now through February, Star Wars Night offers a little something out of the ordinary.
Guests can join the fun on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Allen Event Center, where there will be tons of pregame activities. The entire center will be converted into a space odyssey with special sound effects, lighting and unique scoreboard graphics. Prior to the game, which begins at 7:05 p.m., costumed characters from the 501st Legion and Rebel Forces will be onsite, so you and your kids can get awesome selfies.
In addition, you can enter the Sidekicks’ costume contest by submitting a picture of yourself or your family in a Star Wars costume on their Twitter page. So, if you have a Princess Leia, Jedi or Stormtrooper costume hidden in your closet, it’s time to get it out. The contest winner will be announced at the game and will get to perform the ceremonial opening kick!
