Specs at a Glance

If you want a midsize SUV that fits the bill for a comfortable, well-equipped, and upscale car, the Nissan Murano is a great choice. The Murano even features exclusive Zero Gravity seats that draw inspiration from NASA. Along with its unique seats, the Nissan Murano has many other notable features, including some updates for 2021. The Nissan Murano now gets its safety technology, called Safety Shield 360, with all trim levels. The Nissan also has an extra special edition package this year. Two trims that you can get for the Murano this year are the S and the SL. The S is the base trim, while the SL is second from the top. There are many features to enjoy on both trim levels.

The S and SL have the same performance capabilities. The engine beneath the hood of both vehicles is a six-cylinder that has a displacement of 3.5 liters. Power output is the same on the S and SL at 260 HP, and torque production is about 240 LB-FT. Both trims also have Nissan's exclusive transmission system called Nissan Xtronic. You will get front-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain for either, but you can select all-wheel drive for more traction.

The Nissan Murano has a refined but still athletic exterior. Standard amenities with the base include 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome touches. Some additional exterior highlights come with the SL. Roof rails are added to the third trim level, and it gets more extensive and more distinguished 20-inch wheels. LED headlights and fog lights are also standard with the SL.

Both Nissan Murano trim levels have a comfortable cabin that seats five people. The S trim has cloth seats, while you will get premium diamond-quilted leather seats with the SL. Technology for the S includes:

  • An eight-inch infotainment display.
  • A USB-C port in front.
  • A second USB port in the back row.

You'll get a premium 11-speaker sound system by upgrading to the SL, along with more weather-related comforts, including a heated steering wheel and ventilated seats. Ambient interior lighting and a leather steering wheel give the SL's interior a more upscale appearance. Standard safety technology includes automatic emergency braking and Safety Shield 360 with a panoramic 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and more. Overall, the Nissan Murano gets five stars for safety as rated in government crash tests.
