Hybrid fans have a new option in the SUV segment! This year, Nissan is introducing a gas-electric model to the Rogue lineup, and it offers enhanced efficiency without forfeiting the fun-to-drive performance that Rogue is known for.

The Rogue Hybrid model will receive the same updated look and available new safety technologies as the gas-only edition of the SUV. It is also expected to get many of the same premium features, such as a rearview camera, NissanConnect smartphone app integration, keyless entry and ignition, and other high-end amenities.

The hybrid differs most under the hood, where it features an advanced system comprised of a 2.0-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, lithium-ion battery and electric motor. With this setup, the 2017 Rogue Hybrid will offer Dallas area drivers a net horsepower rating of 176 hp.

The gas-electric SUV is also available in front- and all-wheel drive variations, both of which achieve impressive fuel economy estimates. Nissan projects that FWD Rogue Hybrids will get 33 mpg city, 35 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined. Numbers for AWD models dip slightly, but are still impressive at 31 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined.
