What's New For The 2019 Nissan NV?

Like past model years, the 2019 Nissan NV comes in both a passenger van and a cargo van edition. The passenger van can seat up to 12 people. Its split-folding seat design allows you to make room for cargo or people as needed. You'll find more standard safety features in the Nissan NV this year, as well as more interior amenities and technology. The Nissan NV is available with two different roof heights this year to maximize your comfort. It also comes equipped with more safety amenities and upgraded technology. Nissan gave the NV a new look this year that is more like a pickup truck and less like a van. The 2019 Nissan NV rides on 17-inch wheels, and it comes with a class-leading warranty. While the NV's interior clearly focuses on passenger comfort, the exterior features a durable design that includes a sturdy frame and doors that are designed to withstand the elements.

Which Features are Available for 2019?

This year, there are three trim levels of the Nissan NV passenger van and two trim levels of the cargo van. The base trim level is the S, which is followed by the SV and the SL. The S comes standard with a seven-inch infotainment system that includes wireless technology and iPod connectivity. USB charging ports are also standard in all three trim levels. Power-locking doors and power-operated windows are standard in the S, as is keyless entry, a backup camera, and a dual-speaker sound system. The SV adds to that list two more 12V power outlets, a six-speaker sound system, steel wheels, and chrome accents across the exterior. By moving up to the SL, you'll upgrade to leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, parking sensors in the front as well as the back, fog lamps, and dual-zone air conditioning.

The cargo van version of the Nissan NV is produced in two trim levels, which are the S and the SV. The interior of the S looks much the same as the passenger van. However, the exterior gets a sliding door and the option for a glass door. The S trim level of the cargo van also weighs more than the passenger van. The SV gets a four-speaker sound system, more intricately designed 17-inch wheels, power-operated mirrors, and rear parking sensors. You have a choice between an NV with a regular roof and a tall roof. The taller roof adds a center console for additional storage space. Its heated side mirrors are another convenient amenity.

How does the NV Engine Balance Power Needs and Fuel Economy?

2019 Nissan NV Exterior FrontThe 2019 Nissan NV is powered by one of two engines. The base engine is a four-liter, six-cylinder engine with a peak power output of 261 HP and 281 LB-FT of torque. The second engine, which comes standard on the higher-level trims, is a more powerful eight-cylinder engine with a 5.6L capacity. This engine produces a maximum of 375 HP and has a torque production of 387 LB-FT. Both engines are matched to an automatic transmission that uses continuously variable timing technology for smoother shifting and better performance.

Affordability and Packed with Safety Features Galore

2019 Nissan NV Exterior RearAlthough the Nissan NV is designed for transporting people and cargo, it offers plenty in the way of safety. You'll find both standard and available safety features in the Nissan NV, which begins with front, side, and overhead airbags throughout the cabin. Rollover sensors help to deploy the airbags in case of an accident. Rear parking sensors are standard across the NV lineup, and depending on which trim level you choose, you will get front parking sensors, too. A tire pressure monitoring system is also standard on both the cargo and passenger versions of the 2019 NV.
