What's New For the 2020 Nissan Maxima?

For the 2020 model year, the Nissan Maxima-now in its eighth production cycle-now has the Safety Shield 360 suite of active safety technologies standard across the board. Also, Nissan gives the mid-level SR trim a few upgrades and updated the chassis of the sporty midsize sedan to improve its ride and handling quality.

Available Features in the 2020 Maxima

Six trims of the 2020 Nissan Maxima are available. They are the S, SV, SL, SR, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve. A five-seater, the Maxima starts with comfort and convenience features such as cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a smart key system with push-button engine start, remote engine start, the Advanced Drive-Assist Display for optimal focus on the road, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, hands-free text messaging, eight-speaker audio, AM/FM radio, a single-disc CD player, a three-month trial subscription to the SiriusXM All Access package, two USB ports and an auxiliary audio jack for hooking up mobile devices, and the NissanConnect infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display.

You will need to upgrade to the SV level to get enhancements such as leather seat trim, steering wheel, and front-seat heating, power lumbar on the driver's seat, HD Radio, 8-inch touchscreen navigation, two additional USB ports, and three-month trial subscriptions to the SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link.

The SL is the only trim with a driver-side memory system and aluminum foot pedals, and it is the trim level where Nissan introduces front-seat cooling, a garage-door opener, and an 11-speaker Bose premium audio system. Unique to the Platinum and Platinum Reserve trims are three-year Select and six-month Premium Plus NissanConnect Service subscriptions for functions and services such as automatic collision notification, remote door lock/unlock, vehicle health reporting, stolen car locator, and roadside assistance.
