How Often Should I Service My Nissan Altima?

Bringing your Nissan Altima into our dealership's auto shop regularly is one of the best things that you can do to maintain its excellent condition. The Nissan Altima maintenance schedule listed here serves as a basic guideline for you to follow throughout your many happy years of ownership. However, the specific services and Nissan Altima service intervals could vary based on your car's year and trim. With this in mind, refer to the owner's manual maintenance schedule for firm guidelines.

10,000-Mile Service

At 10,000 miles, your Nissan Altima will need a variety of inspections and services. These include a detailed inspection of the rotors, brake pads, tire air pressure, brake cables, brake lines, and tire tread condition. The oil filter, battery power, engine air filter, and suspension system should also be inspected. Essential fluids like the power steering fluid, the engine oil, the coolant, the brake fluid, and the wiper fluid should be replaced or replenished. Altima cars with an all-wheel drive drivetrain require unique services as well, and these services are centered around the propeller shaft, the differential gear oil, the differential fluid, and the transfer case oil. Otherwise, the transmission fluid in the Altima's continuously variable transmission requires replacement at this time.

30,000-Mile Service

Additional inspections are required at the 30,000-mile milestone. Specifically, the rotors, the drive shaft boots, the brake pads, the exhaust system, the suspension system, the axles, and the linkage and gears for the steering system need attention. This is also the time to replace the brake fluid.

60,000-Mile Service

At 60,000 miles, our technicians will complete a few other vital services. These include an inspection of the fuel lines, the hoses, and the fuel tank vapor system.

105,000-Mile Service

Recommended maintenance services continue when the odometer reads 105,000 miles. These services are a replenishment or a replacement of the coolant and the installation of new spark plugs.
