Pay Attention to Your Decorations
Some of the most hazardous items for household pets can be the very things we use to decorate this season. From poisonous plants like mistletoe to toppling Christmas trees and burning tapers, its best to find alternatives like artificial plants and flameless candles.
Keep Them Secure During Travel
Many people will be heading out onto the road this holiday season with Buttercup and Rover in tow. In order to keep everyone safe, many experts suggest not only having plenty of food, water and room for your pet, but also keeping them in their carriers during the trip, so they stay safe and secure, while you stay attentive while driving.
Avoid Feeding Them Table Scraps
This is another big one that many people might forget, but it is highly recommended that you don’t feed your pets any table scraps, no matter how long they stare at the turkey. This is because many holiday foods are high in fat and might have small bones that could lodge in a pet’s throat. Also, be sure to avoid feeding them chocolate or alcoholic beverages, as these items could cause them to become ill.
Crest Nissan would like to wish all of our neighbors – even the four-legged among them – a happy and safe holiday season!
